Factors include the child's age, emotional bond with each parent, each parent's capacity to provide care, the child's preferences (depending on maturity), and any history of family violence. An uncontested divorce where all matters are agreed upon can be finalised in approximately three to six months from the date of filing. Contested matters, where ancillary issues go to hearing, may take considerably longer — often twelve to twenty-four months depending on complexity. Timelines can vary based on court scheduling and the specifics of your situation. We keep you informed at every stage.

Relocation matters are among the more nuanced areas of family law. In most cases where a custody or care-and-control order exists, you would need either the consent of the other parent or an order from the court before relocating with your child. The court weighs the genuine reasons for relocation against the impact on the child's relationship with the other parent. We can advise you thoroughly based on the specifics of your situation.

Our service fees are stated clearly per engagement type: Divorce & Separation Counsel from SGD 1,500, Child Custody & Access from SGD 450, and Family Mediation Facilitation from SGD 380. During the initial consultation, we will outline the scope of work and the applicable fees before any engagement proceeds. There are no hidden charges, and we will always keep you informed of cost implications as matters develop.
